Alternatives & exemptions. The Board accepts (re)certification or current Maintenance of Certification/Competency (MOC) or Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC) issued by ABMS, RCPSC or AOA in lieu of CME (Board policy 3-12-2011; Minn. R. 5605.0700). Exempt: Emeritus registration and full-time residency or fellowship training at an accredited facility.
Good to know. Three-year CME cycles start on the first day of the birth month. Minn. Stat. 214.12 subd. 3 asks the board to require fetal alcohol syndrome education for physicians treating it (not found in ch. 5605). Board CE pages checked 2026-10-28; rule text from the Revisor.
