Alternatives & exemptions. The Board may grant extensions (up to 1 year) or exemptions for good cause, uncompensated practice under a licensed physician, or medical examiners with 6 hours/year OCME training. AMA PRA award or specialty recertification may count if requirements equal or exceed the Board's (FAQ).
Good to know. One Board licenses MD and DO with the same rule. Renewal is biennial in the birth month; the fee rule says due in each even-numbered year. 1 hr human trafficking CE was required for 2024 and 2025 renewals; no notice found for later cycles.
