02 Dates and location
When and where is VMX 2027?
VMX 2027 runs Saturday, January 16, through Wednesday, January 20, 2027, in Orlando. The 2027 theme is "Off the Grid". NAVC calls it the world's largest veterinary event: its June 2026 announcement lists more than 1,000 hours of continuing education and over 800 exhibitors, and its help center says past editions drew over 27,000 attendees, more than 19,000 of them veterinary professionals.
Everything centers on the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). Registration sits in the South Concourse at 9899 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. Electives such as hands-on workshops, masterclasses and Meet the Professor luncheons are held at the Rosen Centre, a short walk from the OCCC.
Plan the week around the expo, because its hours shape the program.

03 Program and schedule
VMX 2027 schedule: tracks, electives and the program guide
NAVC published the VMX 2027 Program Guide as a 39-page PDF grid. Each session carries the registration types it suits, such as V or N/T. Tracks cover small animal medicine and surgery, large animal, exotics, backyard farm animals, nurse/technician sessions, practice management, and personal and professional development, plus industry symposia and expo learning theaters.
Most lecture slots run 50 minutes, 8:00 to 8:50 AM, 9:05 to 9:55 AM and so on, with a break between. That matters for state rules that count an hour as at least 50 minutes.
Electives cost extra and fill early. The July 2026 grid already marked several workshops SOLD OUT, so book a hands-on lab together with your registration rather than after. Two longer formats sit in the program as well: certificate courses such as the Pet Nutrition Coach Certification and the Lead Like a Unicorn leadership course combine 6 hours of online CE before the meeting with 4 hours live in Orlando.

A session marked only "Streaming" in the app is overflow video for people outside the room. It is not part of VMX Virtual and will not appear on demand later.
04 CE credit and RACE
How many CE credits can you earn at VMX?
NAVC offers more than 1,000 hours of CE, but you can sit in only one room at a time. Your total is what your badge scans and quizzes put on your Record of Participation. Count the 50-minute slots you actually plan to attend across four full days and a half-day Wednesday, then add any on-demand sessions you finish later.
NAVC points attendees to its RACE-approved CE information for VMX, and it requires all of its scientific speakers to meet RACE requirements. RACE is the program of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) that sets uniform standards for veterinary CE. Physicians check for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit; veterinarians and vet techs usually check for RACE.
RACE approval is not a license guarantee. The AAVSB says each jurisdiction decides, and a board may refuse RACE-approved programs partially or in full or cap certain categories. Its list of boards that acknowledge RACE without extra approval includes Florida, Texas, California and most other states. New York is the outlier: providers must make an additional submission to the New York board.

05 Claim your certificate
How to claim your VMX CE certificate
Credit builds up as you go. Your job is to check the record afterwards and fill any gaps before NAVC closes edits.
- Wear your badge into every session. Onsite sessions are added to your record when your badge is scanned.
- For livestreamed sessions you watch in VMX Virtual, credit is added when you join and watch. If one is missing, open the session and use Livestream CE Claim under "CE & More".
- For on-demand sessions, watch the video, then pass the 5-question quiz under "CE & More". Nothing is credited until you pass.
- Check your record in the NAVC Events app or at connect.navc.com. To add a missed session, find it under the Onsite or Virtual Education tab and click Add CE. To remove one, open Certificate & ROP, choose Record of Participation and click Remove Session(s).
- Download your documents at certificates.navc.com. Sign in with the email you registered with (a one-time email code works if you forgot the password) and choose PDF.
- Save both the certificate and the Record of Participation, the list of sessions you attended. NAVC recommends sending both to your board as proof of CE.

On-demand sessions are not added to your Record of Participation. Each one has its own certificate, so download every one of them before you report to your board.
06 Florida, Texas, New York
State rules to check before you count VMX hours
Take a Florida DVM with a renewal coming up. The meeting is in-state, it falls in January, and the program carries a session built around Florida drug law. Texas and New York licensees have their own detail to watch.

07 Registration and cost
VMX 2027 registration: cost, discounts and what's included
Register on NAVC's registration site, experience.navc.com; you need an NAVC account. Recent graduates, students, residents and interns, and senior DVMs must upload proof of status during registration, or the form will not submit.
NAVC sells VMX 2027 in rate tiers that rise as the meeting gets closer, and students register free. Our VMX 2027 event page keeps the current fee table and deadlines with their source, so check it before you book.
There are no official discount codes to hunt for. The savings NAVC actually offers are the early-bird rate, student registration and a group discount for 6 or more people, available through December 31, 2026 (restrictions apply). Practices registering 5 or fewer add each person on the review page, and each attendee needs a separate email address.
The base registration covers general sessions, the expo hall, entertainment and the shuttle to the OCCC from most hotels on the official list. It does not cover workshops, masterclasses, Meet the Professor luncheons, management practicals or tours, and it does not include meals: food is for purchase and the OCCC is cashless. Badges are not mailed; you print yours at a kiosk on site.

08 VMX Virtual
VMX Virtual: livestream and on-demand CE
VMX Virtual streams sessions live from Orlando, adds "Simulive" sessions (pre-recorded, with the speaker answering in the chat) and keeps most sessions on demand for 60 days. The virtual pass has its own rate; see the VMX 2027 event page for the current fee.
In the program guide, sessions marked LIVESTREAMED are the ones that go into VMX Virtual and on demand. In-person attendees can buy VMX Virtual as an add-on, a practical way to earn credit for the talk you missed because two good ones ran at the same hour.
The quiz is what turns watching into credit. NAVC says learners must pass a brief quiz to qualify for RACE-approved CE on demand. VMX Virtual 2026 closed on March 22, 2026, and NAVC allowed CE record edits through that same date; the 2027 cut-off was not posted yet at our last check.
09 Hotels and housing
VMX 2027 hotels: booking through the official housing bureau
Book through NAVC's official housing link on Passkey, run by its housing bureau ConferenceDirect (855-478-4692, [email protected]). The three headquarters hotels, Hilton Orlando, Hyatt Regency Orlando and Rosen Centre, are within walking distance of the OCCC, and most other block hotels get the VMX shuttle. Disney hotels are on the list, but NAVC runs no shuttle to or from them.
Cancellation fees rise as January gets closer, and canceling directly with the hotel does not avoid them. Changing your dates of stay does not trigger the VMX fee.

Can veterinary technicians earn CE at VMX?
Yes. The program has a nurse/technician track and N/T-tagged sessions and workshops, and their credit lands on the same Record of Participation as everyone else's.

Yes. Find it in the app under the Onsite or Virtual Education tab and click Add CE. For VMX 2026, edits were open through March 22, 2026.
Are meals included with VMX registration?
No. Food is sold throughout the campus, mostly in the expo hall, and the OCCC is cashless. Industry breakfasts and lunches are first come, first served.
