How we collect and check our data

Which sources we use, how each entry is checked, and what we deliberately leave out.

01 Conferences

Conferences

We list a meeting only when its organizer has published it: dates, city, format and the credits it offers come from the organizer's own website or program. Fees, early-bird deadlines and hotel blocks are taken from the registration page and shown as they were on the day we checked.

If the organizer has not yet named the credit type or the number of hours, we leave the field empty rather than guess. Each meeting page shows the source link and the date we last compared it with that source.

02 State CE requirements

State CE requirements

Renewal rules come from the licensing board's website or from the state statute and administrative code that the board enforces. When the board's summary and the code disagree, we follow the legal text.

For every rule we record the hours, the renewal cycle, the deadline, mandatory topics such as opioid prescribing or implicit bias, and how the board wants the hours reported. If a board does not publish a detail, the page says so.

03 Speakers, companies and organizers

Speakers, companies and organizers

Speaker names, roles and sessions come from the published program of each meeting. We add only facts that public registries confirm: the NPI number, specialty and practice state from the federal NPPES registry, publication counts from PubMed, and records from the CMS provider data catalog.

A registry record is attached only when exactly one person matches the name, credential and state. If two people could match, we attach nothing. We do not publish photos, copy biographies or collect social media profiles that the person has not listed on an official page.

04 Dates and updates

Dates and updates

Every conference, rule and guide carries a 'checked' date: the last day we compared the entry with its source. When a source changes, we update the entry and the date. A date that looks old is a signal to confirm with the board or organizer before you rely on it.

05 Sources we use most

Sources we use most

  • Conference organizers' websites, programs and registration pages
  • State licensing boards, state statutes and administrative codes
  • NPPES NPI Registry, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • CMS Provider Data Catalog (doctors and clinicians)
  • PubMed, National Library of Medicine
  • Interstate licensure compact commissions

06 What we leave out

What we leave out

We do not rate meetings or speakers, we do not publish reviews, and we do not estimate missing numbers. Aggregator sites and other directories are never used as a source; when they are the only place a fact appears, the fact stays off our pages.
