Medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology meetings
Dermatology conferences fall into a few types. Academy and society meetings run medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology in parallel tracks. Clinical update courses, often in resort cities, focus on new drugs, biologics and practical pearls.
A cosmetic dermatology conference leans on injectables, lasers and live demonstrations, and much of that schedule can be industry-sponsored time without CME credit. Hands-on injection and laser workshops usually cost extra and sell out first. If you treat skin of color, children or skin cancer, filter by track rather than by meeting name.

Credit for dermatologists, PAs and NPs
Physician credit appears as AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Board-certified dermatologists also follow the American Board of Dermatology Continuing Certification Program, which is separate from state license CME, so one certificate may not cover both.
For PAs, NCCPA counts AAPA Category 1 credit and AMA PRA Category 1 credit from ACCME-accredited providers toward its 100 credits every two years, so a course built for dermatologists still works. NPs prescribing biologics and systemic agents should check the pharmacology hours line, and pediatric dermatology CME often lists those hours separately.

Dermatology CME for primary care and online options
Dermatology CME for primary care teaches rash recognition, dermoscopy basics, biopsy technique and when to refer. It usually carries credit that family physicians, internists, NPs and PAs can all use.
Dermatology CME online, including free modules, works well because image-based cases translate to a screen. Procedures do not. For hands-on biopsy, cryotherapy or injection practice, pick an in-person course that lists supervised workshop time and the number of participants per instructor.
