About American Society of Anesthesiologists
ASA's history runs back to 1905. It works on practice standards and patient safety for physician anesthesiologists and offers education and research to care-team members as well. Its seal, adopted in 1932, is still the source of the lighthouse in its logo.
Its annual meeting goes by the name ANESTHESIOLOGY. The program can be browsed by topic, clinical track or keyword, which helps if you want to build your days around one area of practice instead of sampling everything.
The learning does not have to stop when the meeting closes, because recorded sessions continue through ASA PLUS alongside other year-round material. ASA publishes instructions for claiming CME on its site, and reading them before you travel will save some confusion later.
