02 About
About National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
NAPNAP was established in 1973 and calls itself the first national professional society for NPs. Membership takes in PNPs and other pediatric-focused advanced practice nurses, including practicing clinicians, faculty and authors.
That focus is the main reason to choose its national conference over a general NP meeting. Everything is framed around infants, children, adolescents and young adults, so a clinician in pediatric primary, acute or specialty care won't have to sift through adult-medicine sessions to fill a schedule.
Beyond the meeting, the association works to advance the APRN role and pediatric care quality, and its site lists chapters and shared interest groups. We could not confirm credit details from its About page, so read the conference page before planning around pharmacology hours.
