About Ohio Pharmacists Association
If you hold an Ohio pharmacist or technician license, this state association is an obvious place to look for CE, partly because its offerings include jurisprudence education that OPA says qualifies for Ohio's requirement. Courses run with the Ohio Pharmacists Foundation, the ACPE-accredited provider, and also include certificate programs in topics such as immunization and smoking cessation.
Its largest event is a three-day annual conference and trade show, with research and innovative practice roundtables and poster sessions that give Ohio pharmacists a place to present their own work.
The Innovation Summit & Expo, which replaced the old midyear meeting format, is a one-day event with a different feel. Mornings have gone to facilitated small-group discussion on practice, regulation, drug pricing and patient engagement, while afternoons turn to case-based sessions meant to be repeated at other sites. Pharmacists from other states would gain less from the Ohio-specific policy and law content.
