About Utah Association for Nursing Professional Development
UNPD is a small regional group for the nurses who teach other nurses. An affiliate member of the Association for Nursing Professional Development, it was formed to connect professional development practitioners from health care organizations and academic centers around the Intermountain West, with members in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado.
Its conferences are one-day events, one in spring and one in fall, often hosted at hospitals in the region and not at hotels. The topics center on nursing education itself, such as planning and evaluating learning, rather than bedside clinical updates. That makes them most relevant to nurse educators and anyone building a staff development program. UNPD also runs a preparation course for the NPD certification exam.
Credit details vary by event and are not always posted when a date is first announced, so check the individual listing. Those looking beyond the region can start with ANPD, the national association UNPD is affiliated with.
