Health-system and clinical pharmacy meetings
Clinical pharmacy conferences serve pharmacists in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory clinics and specialty practice. Programs cover drug therapy updates, antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation, critical care, oncology, transitions of care and pharmacy operations. Large national midyear and summer meetings sit alongside state health-system pharmacy society seminars.
Residents and students go to the national meetings for residency showcases, posters and recruiting, which makes those meetings crowded and broad. A practicing clinical pharmacist after therapeutic depth often gets more from a state seminar or a specialty meeting, such as an oncology pharmacy conference.

Reading the UAN: audience, format and topic
Each ACPE-accredited session has a universal activity number, for example 0197-0000-22-001-L05-P. The letter before the topic code shows the format: L for live, H for home study. The two digits give the topic, such as 01 for disease state and drug therapy, 03 for law, 05 for patient safety, 06 for immunizations and 08 for opioids, pain management and substance use disorder.
The final letter shows the audience, P for pharmacists and T for technicians. If your state requires a law or patient safety hour, scan the UANs rather than the session titles.

CPE Monitor upload and comparing meetings
The ACPE provider, not you, uploads credit to CPE Monitor. It needs your NABP e-Profile ID plus birth month and day, and it has 60 days after the activity to report. CPE Monitor rejects credit sent with a wrong e-Profile ID, so check it at registration.
State seminars usually cost less, sit closer to home and include state law sessions. National meetings cost more but offer specialty tracks and board certification review. Some boards require a share of live hours, so check before you fill a cycle with home study.
